    • George served in the military Civil War in Private, Company A, 15th NJ Infantry and Company E 31 NJ Infantry. George enlisted in Sept. 1864 at the age of 25. He reached his regiment in the Shenandoah Valley on Sept. 29th and three weeks later participated in a fight for its existence at Cedar Creek. George wasn't wounded and was honorably discharged after the war ended the following summer. When he applied for a pension about 20 yrs. later, he died before his application was approved.
