    • George and Martha lived in the toll house in Lebanon. It was at the entrance to the village and received the stagecoach passengers that traveled the Brunswick Pike from Easton to New Brunswick. When her husband became ill, Martha made cookies and sold them to the passengers on the stagecoach. Since her husband was ill from a stroke for the last ten years of his life, this was an important source of income for them. Martha predeceased George. Martha was a descendant of the Apgars through the Catherine line, i.e.
