    • Hunterdon Republican account:

      "On May 5, 1915, Orlando T. B. Apgar was working alone on the third floor of the Flour and Feed Mill of W.H. Reger & Sons in East Whitehouse. His clothing became caught in the machinery. He screamed for help but by the time Reger reached the third floor, he had been already drawn into the machine.

      He had been employed for just one month, and lived with his wife and one son on the farm owned by Reger."
